Year 10 Report
Keele Hillas
The end of Term 2 saw our Year 10 students complete their Work Experience placements, and we were incredibly proud of the way they represented both themselves and Woodmans Hill Secondary College in a variety of workplaces across our community. We hope the experience provided valuable insights into future career pathways and helped students develop important workplace skills and confidence.
It was also fantastic to see so many Year 10 families attend our Year 11 Course Information Night and Course Counselling sessions. Thank you for taking the time to support your child's senior school planning. The conversations and decisions made during these sessions are an exciting step towards their future pathways.
Term 3 is already shaping up to be another busy and exciting term. Our Year 10 Melbourne Camp is fast approaching, running from Monday 31 August to Wednesday 2 September. A reminder that camp forms are now due by the extended deadline of Monday 14 August.
We also have the Expect Respect program on Monday 17 August, Pat Cronan's inspiring presentation on Thursday 27 August, and Parent Teacher Student Conversations on Thursday 3 September. We look forward to the many learning opportunities these events will provide.
A special congratulations goes to Bonnie, Sami, Ishant, Jacinta and Ethan, who were selected to participate in the Magic Moments Camp during the Term 2 holidays. Throughout the camp they developed leadership skills, challenged themselves, learnt more about who they are, and created lasting memories. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented our school and embraced every opportunity.
I would also like to recognise the many Year 10 students who proudly represented Woodmans Hill Secondary College in interschool sport this term. Congratulations to our boys' and girls' basketball teams for their outstanding sportsmanship and commitment throughout the competition, with a special shout-out to our Intermediate Boys Basketball Team, who finished an impressive 4th on the day.
Congratulations also to the students who represented our Senior Girls Volleyball Team, earning a place at the State Finals through their determination and teamwork. Finally, well done to all students who competed in the Badminton Singles and Doubles Championships, with several players progressing through to the next round. We are incredibly proud of the way our students continue to represent our school with skill, resilience and respect both on and off the court.
As we prepare for our Year 10 Melbourne Camp, we ask all families to please return both the Medical Information Form and complete the Compass Camp Approval as soon as possible. These are essential to ensure your child can attend camp safely.
If you have misplaced your paperwork, don't worry—we will have additional copies available for students to collect from the Year Level Office next week. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to an exciting few weeks ahead with our Year 10 students!
