Year 9 Report 

It has been a positive start to my time as Year 9 Year Level Leader, and I have been genuinely impressed by how the cohort has settled into the term.

Students have shown real effort in lifting their productive behaviour in class and taking greater ownership of their learning, and these small changes are already having a noticeable impact. We will continue to encourage this culture of continual improvement, as it is often the small, consistent adjustments that make the biggest difference over time. 

A major focus for Year 9 this term has been the careers process, with students working through subject selection for 2027. This is an important step in their schooling, and we encourage families to talk with their student about their emerging interests and pathways, and to make use of the support available through our Careers Team if any questions arise.

Students will also take part in the SSMART ASSK program, a party-safe, harm minimisation initiative designed to help Year 9 students make safer, more informed choices around risk-taking behaviour. It is a valuable session that complements our broader wellbeing curriculum and gives students practical strategies they can carry beyond the classroom. 

Looking ahead, students are looking forward to the Junior School Social, a great opportunity for the cohort to connect outside the classroom and enjoy some well-earned fun together. 

As always, we appreciate the ongoing support of families in reinforcing our expectations around behaviour and learning at home.
