Staff Professional Learning
As mentioned in the last Newsletter, our Term 3 whole-school professional learning focus is on the teaching of reading.
Reading plays an important role in learning across every subject. As students' progress through secondary school, the language, vocabulary and texts they encounter become more complex.
Developing strong reading skills helps students understand what they are learning, build their knowledge and feel more confident across all areas of the curriculum.
The four strategies that will be incorporated into lessons are:
Track with me/Choral reading
Cloze reading
Echo reading
FASE reading
An important component of our professional learning is being intentional with which strategy to use during key moments of reading.
Our literacy focused professional learning Program for staff during 2026/2027.
