Maths Department Report 

It has been great to see students continuing to build their confidence and skills in Mathematics as we move through the term. 

Our Year 7 students are heading towards the end of their Measurement unit. They have been working with a range of practical measurement skills and will complete their next assessment within the next couple of weeks. This is a good opportunity for students to look back over their notes, revisit any areas they have found challenging and ask their teacher for help if needed. 

Our Year 8 and Year 9 students are currently working through Algebra. Algebra is an important part of Mathematics and provides the foundation for many of the topics students will encounter in the years ahead. Students are continuing to develop their ability to work with expressions, equations and mathematical problem-solving. 

In Year 10, students are approaching their assessment on Trigonometry. As the assessment gets closer, we encourage students to make the most of class time, complete their revision and seek clarification on any concepts they are still unsure about. 

For our Year 12 students, the end of the year is beginning to come into view, with final school-based assessments and end-of-year exams now fast approaching. This is a particularly important time for students to make sure their summary books are up to date and well organised. Keeping these resources current not only helps with exam preparation later on, but also provides a valuable way to revise and consolidate learning as the year progresses. 

A little bit of regular revision can make a big difference, and we encourage families to support students in keeping up with their classwork and study routines. As always, our Mathematics teachers are there to help, and we encourage students to ask questions and seek support whenever they need it.
