Policy Updates

From Gabrielle Ponozzo, Senior Assistant Principal

Policy Consultation – We Value Your Feedback

North Melbourne Primary School has recently reviewed and updated three key school policies as part of our ongoing commitment to student safety, inclusion, and wellbeing. These policies are developed in line with Department of Education policy guidelines and Victoria’s Child Safe Standards.

Before these documents are finalised, we would like to invite community consultation on the following policies:

  • Bullying Prevention Policy: Outlines how our school community defines bullying, the proactive programs and strategies we use to build a safe and respectful culture, and the clear processes we follow to investigate and respond to reported incidents.
  • Child Abuse (Including Grooming) – Identification and Response Policy and Procedures: Details the specific indicators staff look for and the clear procedures we follow using the Department's 'Four Critical Actions' to identify and immediately respond to child safety concerns.
  • Child Safety Responding and Reporting Obligations Policy and Procedures: Sets out the clear operational steps our school takes when responding to complaints or concerns regarding child safety, including the mandatory reporting and legal obligations that apply to our staff and broader community.
  •
