Thank You to Our School Community
As we approach the end of Term 2, I would like to take a moment to thank our staff, students, and families for a rewarding semester of learning and growth.
Student Reporting Process
Student reports will be available to parents via Compass on Friday 26th June. We encourage families to take the time to read and reflect on their child’s report, and to celebrate their achievements.
As previously communicated, our formal reporting of student learning and wellbeing is provided through Semester Reports, along with Parent-Teacher Interviews held at the beginning of Term 3 (Week 2). Meeting early in the new semester provides an opportunity for teachers and families to celebrate student progress and to set goals for the term ahead. Information on how to book your Parent-Teacher Interview will be shared shortly via Compass.
Staffing Update
We extend our best wishes to Emma Lawrence as she begins her maternity leave today. We thank Emma for her contributions to 5A and NMPS this year and wish her all the best in the months ahead.
We welcome Paige Rynhart to the Year 5 teaching team, who will be replacing Emma from the beginning of Term 3. Paige is well-known to the students and staff at NMPS, as she was previously employed here as a Teaching Assistant. Paige is looking forward to working with 5A and the rest of the teaching teams.
We also say farewell to Kaajal Patel at the end of Term 2. Kaajal is taking a period of leave from NMPS to relocate overseas for the remainder of 2026-2027. We extend our thanks to Kaajal for her contributions to 6E and NMPS this year and wish her all the best on her travels.
We welcome Madeleine Murphy to the NMPS team from the beginning of Term 3. Madeleine is an experienced teacher who joins us after a period of teaching overseas. We are looking forward to working with Madeline and getting to know her as she transitions into the role as 6E’s teacher.
We also welcome Claire Tarrant to NMPS in Semester 2. Claire will be teaching 5E for the remainder of the year. We are excited to work with Claire and to get to know her as she steps into her role as the 5E’s teacher.
Whole School Assembly
A whole school assembly will be held on Friday 26 June at 9:15am at our Molesworth Street Campus to celebrate the end of Term 2. The assembly will also include an acknowledgement of NAIDOC Week, which takes place during the school holidays.
Although NAIDOC Week falls during the school holidays, we would like to acknowledge and celebrate this important occasion. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity to recognise and honour the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We encourage our school community to take time to learn about and reflect on the rich cultures, contributions, and continuing connection to Country of Australia’s First Nations peoples, and to participate in local NAIDOC Week events where possible.
Parents and carers from both campuses are warmly invited to attend. Students in Years 3–6 will walk across to the Molesworth Street Campus with their teachers on Friday morning.
Happy and Safe Holidays
As this is the final newsletter for the term, I would like to wish everyone a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable break beginning on Friday 26th June. School finishes at 2:15pm for our Year 3 to 6 students and 2:30pm for our Prep to Year 2 students.
We look forward to welcoming all students back to school on Tuesday 14th July.
