Performing Arts News

From Dan Dinnen, Patrick Connor and Sam Howard, Performing Arts teachers

We've been a Rockin' and a Rollin'

What a jam packed fortnight it has been for Performing Arts at North Melbourne Primary School.

At the Year 1 assembly our students performed the Dinosaur Song at assembly.   The performance was enhanced by the wonderful accompaniment of talented student musicians.  Sylvia, Zoe and Huda from 1A, along with Wyn, Zeeana and Rand from 1F brought the house down with their instruments.

It was awesome to see so many students showcasing their musical skills as well as hearing those beautiful dulcet tones from our exceptional Year1 singers.

DINOSAURS! BIG AS TREES! DINOSAURS! BRAIN LIKE PEAAAS!

Will be an ear worm for many of us for a long time due to their beautiful performance.

In Week 9, our Year 6 students performed the Italian folk song Bella Ciao at assembly. A special thank you to Maria on bass, Jacob on drums and Charlotte on keyboard, whose musical accompaniment helped bring the performance to life.

It has been wonderful to see the excitement and enthusiasm surrounding the Talent Show organised by our School Leaders. North Melbourne Primary School is full of talented performers, and we look forward to seeing them shine on stage.

The Years 3–6 Choir will perform at the End of Term Whole School Assembly at 9:15am on Friday in the Molesworth Street Gym. Families are welcome to attend and support our young singers.

Finally our Year 1s and 2s participated in an exciting incursion with the Djirri Djirri dancers. Wurundjeri dance, culture and storytelling was explored through an engaging workshop led by local members of the Wurundjeri community. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Wurundjeri culture through movement and music.
