Exploring Cranbourne Gardens

On Monday, our Year 2 students had a wonderful time exploring Cranbourne Gardens! As part of our PBL unit, students participated in an exciting sensory journey, using their five senses to make observations, investigate nature and develop their understanding of how we gather information from the world around us.

Throughout the day, students explored how our senses help us understand and connect with our environment, while also developing empathy and care for the natural world. Through hands-on experiences, they made meaningful connections between their classroom learning and the environment around them. 

Students also enjoyed a nature scavenger hunt, working collaboratively to find and observe different natural objects and features throughout the gardens. They demonstrated wonderful teamwork, curiosity and enthusiasm as they explored their surroundings.

It was a fantastic day of exploring, discovering and learning outdoors! We loved seeing our students’ curiosity shine as they connected their classroom learning with the natural world and made meaningful discoveries along the way. Some students were blessed to see a bandicoot in the wild.
