Prep 2028 & Year 7 2029 – Important Information for Current Families

As a small school with full class sizes and active waiting lists, Lakeside College continues to experience exceptionally high demand for enrolment, particularly in our key intake years of Prep and Year 7. We encourage current families to plan ahead for siblings to ensure they are included in upcoming enrolment rounds. Prep 2028 and Year 7 2029 – Applications are now open
Changing Enrolment Trends
Over the past few years, enrolment behaviour has shifted significantly. Families are now applying one to two years in advance, especially for Prep and Year 7, to secure consideration before classes reach capacity. Many families are also applying prior to Year 7 entry to ensure continuity through the middle years, as several year levels are already full.
Lakeside College is increasingly viewed as a preferred school option in our area, and with limited class sizes, waiting lists form quickly. Early applications help families avoid disappointment and ensure they remain informed throughout the enrolment cycle.
Sibling Enrolments – Priority and Discounts
Sibling enrolments remain a priority at Lakeside College, and families receive a significant sibling discount on tuition fees. However, priority placement can only be offered when:
- applications are submitted before closing dates, and
all documentation is provided prior to interview scheduling.
If you have a sibling who has not yet applied, please complete an Expression of Interest so we can communicate with you throughout the intake period, share key dates, and invite you to open events. You can learn more about sibling enrolments or submit an expression of interest.
Why Early Enquiry Matters for Current Families
Early enquiry ensures:
- siblings are included in the correct intake round
- families receive timely updates about interview periods and closing dates
- access to open events and enrolment information
- reduced risk of waitlist placement
- clear planning for Prep or Year 7 entry
If you are considering enrolment for a sibling, we encourage you to contact admissions so we can guide you through the process.
