Languages Week

Mazenod College’s annual Languages Week in Week 4, Term 3 was a wonderful celebration of language, culture, learning and community. The week highlighted the important role languages play in our lives, helping us to communicate, connect with others, understand different cultures and broaden our perspectives.

A key event of the week was our annual “Ferragosto” Languages Week Festival, an incredible celebration of language, culture, food and fun! From delicious Italian treats and gelato to classic cars, music, games, DJ beats, accordion sounds and plenty of Mediterranean flair, there was something for everyone.

Another highlight was our Languages Challenge, which included both an interclass and interschool competition, giving students the opportunity to showcase their language skills across a range of languages. The results are listed below. It was impressive to see the breadth of language knowledge and skills demonstrated by our students, and a wonderful reminder of the value of learning languages and the important role they play in people’s lives.

A huge GRAZIE to our amazing students, whose enthusiasm, energy and participation brought the week to life! Their willingness to get involved, have fun and celebrate languages and cultures is what makes this event so special.

What a celebration, Mazenod! ❤️🤍💚

Viva le lingue! Viva Ferragosto!
