Stewards of Creation: Faith in Action

On 20 August 2026, the RE department hosted its inaugural Stewards of Creation Showcase. Students were able to demonstrate what they had been learning about environmental issues and how Catholic beliefs around stewardship guide people to respond.
The students had to explain key features of an environmental issue, suggest a possible solution and explain how Catholic beliefs formed from the Creation stories in Genesis would guide the response. Around 40–50 parents or guardians were able to see the work for themselves, along with several Y11 and 12 classes. The range of work was a credit to the students’ ability to think outside the box to present their learning.
Thank you to the Y8 RE teachers, Mrs Cox, Mr Keogh, Mr Newman, Mr Sharpe and Mrs Voight for helping bring this new project to fruition so quickly.
