Students Explore Sustainable  Solutions

On Tuesday, 18 August, a small group of Year 7 and 8 students, new to Sustainability, attended a Student Meet at Aquinas College. This was organised through Waste Sorted Schools and, as a Waste Sorted Accredited School, Mazenod takes considerable pride in stepping one step closer to closing the gap. 

As a College, we already recycle 10c cans and bottles, paper, compost, scrap metals/plastics, toners, scrap wood, stationery, toiletries and batteries, as well as maintaining an edible vegetable garden and encouraging plastic-free lunches!

This workshop exposed our students to numerous initiatives and solutions to avoiding unnecessary waste. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to hear directly from their peers about successful recycling/regeneration initiatives and how they have implemented them.
