 Schools MTB Racing 

Friday 26 April

A great day was had by our 28 students who competed in the Red Hill Rocky Trail Flowduro event.

 

Well done to all the students involved. Special mention to Rhys Brock on placing 9th in his category and Jye Aitken for placing 10th.

 

Intermediate Soccer

Wednesday 1 May

Congratulations to our Intermediate Boys Soccer team who WON all 3 games today against Monbulk SC, Yarra Hills SC and Lilydale Heights.

 

A heartwarming moment was caught on camera when a playful dog entered the soccer field to join in with the team.

Intermediate Netball

Wednesday 1 May

LHS had four Intermediate Netball teams competing at Yarra Division.  All students played extremely well and represented LHS to a high standard.

 

Congratulations to our A1 team who were winners on the day beating Upper Yarra by 1 goal in the final! The team will now participate in Eastern Metropolitan Region next term.

 

Thank you to Miss Kift for coaching and Ms Marshall who was our convenor on the day.

Boys Tennis

Friday 3 May

The Intermediate Tennis team starring Matt T, Tim B, Peter B, Nathan A and Riley McD played against 3 schools; Heathmont, Glen Waverley and Balywn High School at Ringwood Central Tennis club. 

The boys played well, ran down every point, and overall had a great day out in the sunshine! Spirits were high, despite placing 4th on the day.

 

Peter received MVP on the day, for never giving up, and being a good sport.

Boys Netball

Tuesday 8 May

LHS had two Senior and two Intermediate Boys Netball teams competing at Yarra Division, Pinks Reserve.

 

Well done to our Senior A1 team who were WINNERS on the day and will move onto Eastern Metropolitan Region.

 

Both the Intermediate teams played some great netball and showed improvement each game!!

Thank you to the EIS Netball students for coaching and scoring.

 

A special thank you to Ms Marshall for convening this big event and Ms McLachlan for helping coach and supervise.

Year 8 Girls Netball

Wednesday 15 May

Well done to our three LHS teams who competed the Year 8 Yarra Division Netball competition at Pinks Reserve, Kilsyth. All students participated at their best and showed improvement throughout the day.

 

Congratulations to our A1 team who played some amazing netball to finish undefeated for the day and will move through to Eastern Metropolitan Region 

 

Well done to our A2 team finishing 4th in Section A and B1 team finishing 5th in Section B.

 

A special mention to our EIS/Sport and Rec students Maddi, Ayliah, Morgan, Charli and Hayley for coaching. They did a fantastic job!

Intermediate and Senior Badminton

Wednesday 22 May

48 students headed out for the Intermediate and Senior Badminton competition at Kilsyth Stadium.

 

Playing singles and doubles, all players showed brilliant skills, positive attitudes and enthusiasm throughout the day.

 

Congratulations to 2 of our Senior Teams; Riley, Jay, Matt, Morgan, Keira, Kim, Lani and Mackenzie, who won their pools and will be moving to the next stage.

Worawa Reconciliation Sports Carnival

Tuesday 28 May

A BRILLANT day that brought together a number of schools in the true spirt of Reconciliation.

 

Well done to the EIS students and Year 8 girls who competed in Netball, Football and 3x3 Basketball at the Worawa Reconciliation Sports Carnival.

 

Students were welcomed with a Traditional Smoking Ceremony and walk through the lands. 

 

There was also traditional face painting and a DJ playing music throughout the day for dancing!
