Year 11 Captains' Report

Months of preparation finally paid off and the 2024 Year 11 Presentation Ball was an absolute hit. Everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed the evening!

From a participant's point of view, the Deb experience was definitely one to remember! We had a little over two months of late Tuesday practices, which mostly paid off in the end. It was nice to see everyone rock up in fancy cars and with smiles on their faces. The fact that the Deb was held at the Crown Palladium still seems pretty surreal. Now that the late Tuesdays are over, the silence is loud during Periods 5 and 6.

Experiencing Deb as a guest was amazing! Seeing everyone in their princess dresses was magical! It was obvious that a lot of hard work had clearly gone into the dances which were performed so well.

The Year 11 Health & Wellbeing Day held on Thursday 2 May, was the next event to look forward to. In the morning we were excited to hear from guest speaker, Dr Jodi Richardson on topics about anxiety and mental wellness. For the last 4 periods of the day, everyone was able to pick between a variety of wellness activities.

On Wednesday 24 April our school gathered in the stadium for a student-led ANZAC Day ceremony. We were so proud of the respect shown by all the students and of how well everyone spoke. It was also great to hear from a previous student, Oscar Geddes.  The Year 8 band ABC (finalists in the ‘23 Battle of the Bands) did an amazing job and we can’t wait to hear more music from them in the future.

Everyone has some SACs coming up, if they have not already done them, so good luck, and we wish you all the best.

And also, don't forget to bring in cans and bottles for the 10 cent deposit scheme at the Marketplace Shopping Centre.
