Autumn in the Kitchen

 

The Year 5’s are continuing to refresh their kitchen skills and have created some delicious dishes over the past couple of weeks 

 

On the menu was Harvest Minestrone Soup with Rosemary Bread Roll Knots.

 

Teams spent time carefully preparing their garden goodies. They sliced and diced celery, leek, green beans, silverbeet, parsley and rosemary. 

 

We then came together to prepare a big pot of soup, sautéing off our aromatics and then adding all our seasonal veg along with some tomato passata and vegetable stock. It was left it simmer away while we prepared our bread rolls.

 

Everyone rolled a piece of dough into a thin  log shape, rolled it in freshly chopped rosemary and then wrapped around their fingers to create a knot. 

 

The kitchen smelt wonderful as everything bubbled and baked and our patience paid off as we shared out our delicious creations.
