Performing Arts News

From Dan, Patrick and Sam, Performing Arts Teachers

Rehersals have started!

In Performing Arts this term, our Grade 3-6 students are practicing their Music, Drama and Dance skills … and starting the work of creating scenes that will form part of our Term 4 Arts Show Concerts!

That’s right, in Term 4 this year we have our Arts Show! At Errol Street, we will have a Grade 3-4 Performance night and a Grade 5-6 Performance night. Each group is coming up with a scene during their weekly Performing Arts session. The scenes will ultimately join together to form the final show.

Our Preps, Grade 1 and 2 students will also be working on short performances to share with families at Molesworth Street.

The concert theme for our Grade 3-4 is Time Travel. We explored this theme last term and are currently choosing exactly where in time each group’s scene will take place, and what songs, dances and moments of drama we will be incorporating.

Our Grade 5-6 performance will be based around the theme of Parties and Celebrations. The 5-6s are having a lot of input into writing their scenes and are exploring the settings, characters and situations they will be presenting. They are also starting to learn and practice the music, songs and dances that will form part of their scenes.

We will be letting our NMPS community know more details about the Arts Show Concerts in the weeks and months ahead. In the meantime, your Grade 3-6 student might be able to tell you a little of what they are working on in class!
