Fund-raising for Angl
There are only 14 sleeps until Team St George's heads to Optus Stadium for Anglicare WA’s annual School Sleepout to raise funds for Anglicare WA's Street Connect Bus. At St George’s we see the bus parked regularly in Hay St – so this project is close to our heart.
Team St George's has 25 Year 10s signed up to brave the chills and kip out in the outdoors in sleeping bags on cardboard, on Friday August 9-10. Each student has committed to raise funds and awareness of the project through sponsorship. To give them a boost, our school held our annual ‘Hoodies for Homelessness’ Day earlier this week – in which students of all year groups wore a hoodie over their uniform and donated a gold coin.
Over the next fortnight, our Year 10 sleepout participants – along with their counterparts from some 20 schools across WA, will aim to help Anglicare reach their overall tally of $185,000, which will ensure the Street Connect Bus continues to operate to assist displaced youths in the city.

Many thanks to everyone who wore a hoodie on Tuesday and donated a gold coin in support of our Year 10s.
