Celebrating 80 Years of Glen Rowen Street Kindergarten
This term, Glen Rowen Street Kindergarten proudly celebrated its 80th Birthday with a wonderful Family Fun Day – the biggest event of the year for the service!
The celebrations included a special birthday ceremony, complete with cake cutting - cake made by Katrina @kats.cookiesandcakes and heartfelt speeches from:
• Sam Kolasa, CEO of Glen Education
• Peter Rattray, former Vice President
• John Friend-Pereira, former HR Officer at RSK and current Boroondara Councillor
• Susan Allen, dedicated educator with 28 years of service
A big thank you to all who came along, the Volunteer Parents Group for coordinating such a wonderful community event and our Glen Education office team and volunteers who supported the day and helped make this milestone celebration so special.
Here’s to the next 80 years of community and learning at Glen Rowen Street Kindergarten – Glen Education cannot wait to be a part of it!!
Celebrating National Children’s Week
At Glen Education, we believe every child has a voice worth hearing. This year, we’re thrilled to join in the celebration of Children’s Week across Victoria - from 18 October to 26 October 2025.
This special week is all about recognising children’s rights, their voices, their achievements, and the vital role they play in our communities. The national theme for 2025 is
“Everyone should know about Children’s Rights”
which draws inspiration from Article 42 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
As part of National Children’s Week 2025, our children explored the theme of children’s rights, sharing their own thoughtful ideas about what they believe their rights should be.
From “the right to play and be happy” to “the right to be safe, cared for, and loved,” their words reminded us of the importance of listening to children and valuing their perspectives.
Through meaningful discussions and creative expression, our educators supported children to recognise that their thoughts, feelings, and ideas truly matter, every day, in every learning space.
