As we step into the final term of the year, it’s a wonderful time to reflect on all we’ve accomplished together as a community.
We are incredibly proud to share that Glen Education Glover Street Kindergarten has once again been assessed and rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standard in all seven quality areas. This achievement is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to high-quality early childhood education and the strong, trusting relationships we build with children and families.
One of our most significant achievements this year has been the creation of our Atelier space which is a dedicated studio for creative exploration and expression. Inspired by a professional study tour one of our teachers did to Reggio Emilia, Italy our team engaged in deep reflective practice to reimagine how the environment can support children’s thinking, creativity, and communication celebrating the Hundred Languages of children.
The development of the Atelier has transformed the way children engage with materials, ideas, and each other. From the outset, children were active participants in shaping this space. Together, we explored the questions:
"What is an art studio? What can it be used for? How would you design this space?"
Their responses were captured on a shared “studio vision board”, and their voices helped guide the design of a truly open-ended, flexible learning environment.
Through the Atelier, children have been empowered to explore complex ideas using a range of mediums including clay, paint, wire, charcoal and natural materials. This space has supported project-based learning, encouraged collaborative problem-solving, and provided countless opportunities for children to represent their thoughts, stories, and emotions.
This innovative practice is underpinned by our strong team culture, reflective pedagogy, and a deep understanding of children as capable and curious learners. It has also strengthened children’s sense of belonging, as they see their ideas and contributions valued and embedded in their daily experiences.
Our ongoing success has also been supported by meaningful professional learning, including collaboration with the Glen Education Leadership Team and the broader Glen Education community. Together, we continue to learn, grow, and evolve in response to the needs and strengths of our children and families.
As we head into the final weeks of the year, we take this moment to thank our families for your continued support, trust, and partnership. It is through this shared journey that we create an environment where children feel safe, listened to, inspired, and can thrive.
