Building strong connections with Families and our Community

Throughout the year, we are focusing on our Curriculum Goals. At Glen Sundowner Kindergarten, goals are to build strong connections with Families and Community by strengthening the relationships between children, families, and the Glen Sundowner Kindergarten community through mutual trust, inclusivity, and active engagement.
We strive to promote a sense of belonging by embracing the diverse culture within the Glen Sundowner community, ensuring all children and families feel seen, valued, and respected.
Building self-esteem and resilience in children by fostering an environment where children feel valued, supported, and encouraged to explore, take risks and build resilience is central to our goals.
With this in mind, we can say our biggest achievements as a team in 2025 is engaging with our community.
Examples include:
- Partnerships with local Shops (Local Woolworths)
- Partnerships with local Schools (St. Andrew's PS and Westall Primary School)
- Meeting with The Little Swim School (Water Safety)
- Meeting with Dentist
- Visiting local Library
- Dinosaur incursions
- Celebrations of all cultural festivals, e.g. NAIDOC Week, Halloween, Diwali, Lunar New Year, Eid, Harmony Day, Christmas, New Year, Sikh Volunteer, Special Person Day, etc.
We at Glen S.K engaged with local communities across the year by inviting children, families and other organisation members in excursion, incursions, visiting etc.
At the end of the year, we see children are getting benefits from these programs. Children are more likely to develop a strong sense of identity, engage confidently in learning, and build meaningful relationships with peers and educators. When children feel safe and secure, respected, and included they can express their voices. Cultural events are giving respectful recognition to others in a joyful way.
These benefits are foundational elements of both personal and educational success, and we achieved this in 2025.
