Key Tag Design Project
Year 8 Design Technologies
Our Technology students have been hard at work on their first CAT of the year: designing and creating their very own custom key tags. Throughout the project, students followed the full design process, from initial concepts through to a polished final product.
Using TinkerCAD, students learned the fundamentals of 3D modelling, experimenting with simple shapes to determine the depth, form and overall layout of their key tag. This hands-on digital design phase helped them refine their ideas and understand how their choices would translate into a physical object.
Once the designs were complete, each key tag was 3D printed, giving students the exciting opportunity to see their creations come to life. To finish, students personalised their work using POSCA pens, adding colour, detail and individuality to every piece.
The final key tags from both Technology classes are a fantastic showcase of creativity, problem-solving and newfound design skills.
