Student Leaders Corner

Meet your School Vice Captains!

My name is Hussain Shirzad and I am honoured to serve as a Vice Captain of Dandenong High School. I am a proud member of Fern House and my journey as a student leader is driven by a strong desire to amplify student voices and ensure that everyone has a chance to be heard. I believe that every student, regardless of their year level, should have access to opportunities that help them grow, participate and make the most of their time at DHS.

One of the things I look forward to most in my role is working closely with students, staff, and my fellow leaders to create a positive and inclusive school environment. I am passionate about advocating for meaningful changes that benefit all students and help shape a thriving school community.

My hope for DHS in 2025 is for every student to feel empowered, engaged and supported in their academic and personal journeys. I want to see our community grow stronger, with students embracing leadership, making lifelong memories, and finishing the year with a sense of accomplishment. Together, we can make this a year to remember.

School Vice Captain

Hi, my name is Dunsin, and as most of you may already know, I am your School Vice Captain for this year.

Being elected to a leadership role is both an honour and a privilege. It reminds me of why I wanted to be part of the leadership team—to be a voice for students. My goal for 2025 is to be a supportive voice for all students and help create a more welcoming and positive environment where everyone can thrive.

As we've started off the year, it’s been amazing to see the energy and enthusiasm from our school community. Events like the Badge Assembly, interschool sports, Swimming Carnival and the Year 7 picnic have set a fantastic tone for the term. With the Athletics Carnival coming up next term, it's the perfect time to get involved by signing up for events, showing your House spirit by dressing up in House colours, and helping earn points for your House in competing for the House Shield. It’s also a great chance to connect with others, both within our Houses and across the school. Let’s keep the momentum going, make more memories, and continue thriving this term!
