VPC Excursion

On the 20th of February the two VPC classes visited Walker Street art gallery and The Drum Theatre. At the art gallery we saw an exhibition called ‘Tashabok’ about displacement and migration. Students were given a guided tour and explored drawings, sculptures and also got to write their own message on a communal chalkboard.

Next, we went into the foyer of the Drum Theatre to see the 9 by 5 exhibition. This included paintings of many different subjects by artists from the Dandenong area. This was the first gallery visit for some of our students and they enjoyed having a new experience. It was a fun afternoon out in our local area. Both exhibitions are free and open to the public for the next couple of months.

Careers Updates

The Careers Team has had a busy and exciting term, connecting with Year 12 students through one-on-one career conversations. These meetings have been a fantastic way to build relationships and let students know how we can support them in planning their future pathways—both for this year and beyond!

We’ve also hosted a lunchtime resume workshop, where students brought along their resumes (or a work in progress) and we helped them refine and polish their applications.

Looking ahead, we’re gearing up for our highly anticipated Career Expo in May! This event will be a fantastic opportunity for students and families to explore a range of career and study options, with representatives from universities, TAFEs, and various industries on hand to offer insights and advice. It’s shaping up to be a great term, and we can’t wait to continue supporting our students in their career journeys!
