International Women's Day
On Wednesday, 5th March, 5 students, Suha, Madani, Alishba, Renata and Harleen, attended the International Women's Day Leadership Workshop with IBM and Crazy Ideas College 2025.
It was a fantastic opportunity to talk about leadership and influence of woman in our world.
"Attending the International Women’s Day leadership event at IBM was an absolute inspiring experience. The day was filled with deep discussions and fun group activities. The event was interactive and inspiring, pushing me to chase my dreams fearlessly. I left feeling empowered and ready to challenge the societal norms towards women. A huge shout-out to Ms. Mason, whose fantastic company made the day even more memorable. To every young woman out there: remember to speak up, dream big, and let your light shine!"

Today, we went on an excursion to the city to visit IBM for a special workshop in celebration of International Women’s Day. The focus was on women in leadership—how far we’ve come and how much further we need to go. We discussed inspiring female role models who have paved the way in various industries and the importance of creating a more balanced workforce where women have equal opportunities to lead. The session emphasised that gender should never be a barrier to success and that businesses need to do more to ensure fairness and inclusion. It was an insightful experience that reinforced why advocating for women’s rights in the workplace is essential for a better future.

DHS Welcomes our new Year 7s!
We have been so excited to welcome our new Year 7 students as they began their high school journey at Dandenong High School. To help them settle in, we organised some fantastic events!
On Friday 7th February, students completed their Welcome Week activities with the Year 7 Lysterfield Lake Excursion, a fun day filled with team-building activities and new friendships.
Our annual Year 7 Welcome Picnic was a wonderful success, bringing together our newest students and their families for an afternoon of fun, connection, and community. It was fantastic to see so many families exploring the learning environment, meeting teachers, and getting to know their House Leadership teams.
With perfect weather following a welcome cool change, families enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere filled with lawn games like Giant Jenga, Kubb, Skittles, Bocce, and Volleyball. The free ice cream and coffee were a hit, adding to the warm and friendly vibe of the event.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the afternoon so special. We look forward to a great year ahead with our new Year 7 students!
