Callistemon House

Welcome back to Term 2 everyone! I hope you all had a relaxing break and are ready for an exciting, fast-paced Term 2. This term will be packed with major events such as Chorales and all your exams, so it's the perfect term to get involved in school events, making the most of your school life whilst also getting into and polishing your study skills/routines. 

I am Manveer, your Year 11 SRC for 2026. I am honoured to uphold this position for 2026 and enjoy being able to uplift the student agency and give an opportunity to make your voices heard. I love hearing all your ideas for making the school environment better and I’m eager to help foster a strong sense of community within our school. 

A few weeks ago we had the ANZAC Assembly, where we came together as a school community to honour the service and sacrifices of those who served our nations in the past conflicts. It was a time to reflect on the values of resilience and mateship whilst also reminding us how important they are to us today.

Our main focus this term is all on fundraising and charity. We are looking at charities which help refugee women and children such as the Sacred Heart mission and SisterWorks. I encourage everyone to support us with the upcoming fundraiser by purchasing items and raffle tickets to win small prices once a fortnight

Additionally, Term 2 is all about house spirit and getting involved with upcoming school events. As we all know, Chorales is on 11th June. Chorales isn’t just about being the best singer; it's about teamwork and most importantly making the most of your high school experience. So sign up to help support your House.

Athletics is on August 18th, we encourage everyone to participate in both events, having fun together. As for Athletics, we all know Callistemon is the best at these events so we need everyone to sign up. Even if you aren’t a sporty person, it’s about participating and having fun. And if you don’t want to sign up for any event take part in the push up challenge to win your House points. 

Finally, our Chorales rehearsals for our House will be held on Tuesdays and Fridays, so make sure you come and engage with the event. Additionally, this term is a winter term so don’t forget your ties and if you have any suggestions, worries or ideas, please come see me! 

Let’s make the most of this term by engaging and making the most out of our high school experience.
