Cross Country Report: Greater Dandenong District Championships

On Monday 11th of May, the Dandenong HS team competed in the Greater Dandenong District Cross Country Championships held at Tatterson Park in Keysborough.

With weekly morning training runs lead up to the GDD X-C event and meetings to prepare the team we were primed and ready to go. Perfect weather, a flat fast course and eager runners were ready to take on the competition and continue the Cross Country culture for future Dandenong HS runners. 

Our day started in excellent fashion with medal winning performances from Hussain A (D11) winning the 17-20 Boys race with Patrick A (B12) just missing a medal finishing in 4th place. 

Dawoud I (C09) dominated the 15 Boys race leading from start to finish and winning by a huge margin, with Mustapha A (F09) finishing in second place. The 16 Girls race saw Meilyn L (C11) finish in 3rd place with Zainab E (D09) finish in 4th.

Alamdar N (B08) comfortably won the 14 Boys race with Shabir M (F08) finishing in 4th place.

The Dandenong HS runners that finished in the top 15 of their age group races, therefore qualifying for Southern Metro Region Championships were;

This give us a team of 19 runners progressing to the Southern Region Finals.
