Fern House

Hello, I'm Wayne and I am the Fern Year 11 SRC for this year. I'm really excited to be working with all the other very capable members of leadership this year. 

One thing I enjoy about the SRC is the connection we have with the student body and being able to make a change in the school, as well as helping out my fellow classmates and the student body as a whole.

Firstly, I’d like to welcome everyone back to school for the second term. I hope everyone had a great break and you are all refreshed for a great term of learning. 

I like to bring attention to the ANZAC Assembly we had on 24th of April. It was a very heartfelt event, seeing all the students pay their respects during the assembly and seeing the House captains laying the wreaths for each house. The speeches during the assembly were also very powerful, and listening to each of the speakers was an amazing moment of support for all people that have fought for their countries.

Regarding Fern’s House Charity, we are putting our funds towards supporting UNICEF, which is the leading humanitarian charity in providing basic needs to children around the world. This can include food, vaccines and protection. The leadership team believes this is a great cause to support and they have our full backing. We hope to support them immensely with what we raise during the year.

Now, soon coming up during the year are Chorales and Athletics. In Fern House, we are having lunch time meetings for students joining the House Chorales and practice for singing. The event will take place on June 11th, at 5pm. I hope to see many of you there. As for Athletics, that is happening on August 18, which might seem far but the time flies by in no time. I suggest anyone interested in signing up for it to talk to your House Leader about the events.
