ANZAC Assembly

On Friday 24th April, our school commemorated the contribution of service men and women with our ANZAC Day Assembly. Students heard stories of courage, humility, resourcefulness, respect and mateship. The speeches from the assembly today are shared on Compass (and in our upcoming newsletter) for students to reflect on the stories they heard and consider how they honour the sacrifice of those who lost their lives serving their country. Thank you to our students for their respectful behaviour during the assembly and to the Student Leaders for their contribution to the assembly.

Later that afternoon, House Captains laid the wreaths from the assembly at the Pillars of Freedom in Dandenong. On Saturday, School Captains Adam and Elaha, attended the Dandenong ANZAC Day Service at the Pillars of Freedom. Adam and Elaha read the Ode as part of the service and laid a wreath on behalf of the school community.

Lest we forget.

Discovery Night

During the school’s Open Night, our instrumental students put on a performance for parents and kids considering attending Dandenong High School. Students were here very early, eagerly rehearsing before parent arrivals. We had our rock bands perform along with solo performances from pianists, vocalists and a clarinetist. All students stayed around to watch their peers and encourage them to perform to their best. This was an excellent display of the comradery between these students and the community they have built with each other through the instrumental program.

Year 12 Jumpers

Year 12 students recently received their school jumpers during lunchtime at Jacaranda. The occasion marked an important milestone in their schooling journey, symbolising their final year of schooling.

Students gathered with pride as they collected their jumpers, which represent unity, achievement, and school spirit. The moment was simple yet meaningful, bringing the cohort together to acknowledge their progress and the experiences they have shared so far.

This annual tradition serves as a reminder of the journey ahead and the lasting memories that will define their final year together.
