Year 7 NEWS!

by Joseph Caruana

Assistant Principal - Positive Climate for Learning

Year 7 CAMP then comes NAPLAN

Having recently returned from the fun filled 3 day / 2 night camp experience, where students experienced activities including canoeing, abseiling and dancing (refer to the previous edition of the iNewsletter for a full Year 7 summary report), the Year 7s successfully completed the series of NAPLAN assessments.

The Writing component was first. This was followed by Reading and then Conventions of Language. In the latter, students' spelling, grammar and punctuation was tested. NAPLAN concluded with Numeracy - which comprised of a non-calculator section followed by a calculator allowed section,.

It was wonderful and encouraging seeing all of our Year 7s doing their absolute best. Excellence is one of our school values. Across all of our subjects, it is great to see our Year 7s committed to achieving their personal best.

ITALIAN EXAMINATIONS

Term 1 concluded with our Year 7 (and Year 8) students, completing both an Italian Reading and Writing Assessment Task under test conditions and a Speaking and Listening Task under examination conditions.

How many of these phrases do you know?  Can you match the Italian expression with the correct English expression (on the right)? If you need assistance, our students will be happy to assist you!

ITALIAN ENGLISH
