FriYays Drop-In Returns for Term 2 🏓🎮
Come on down to our free weekly drop-in space for activities, snacks, hang outs and connection, returning for Term 2 starting on Friday 2 May.
FriYays is Bayside Youth Service's weekly drop-in program, open to any young person aged 10-17 years old with a connection to Bayside (live, work, study, play).
You can expect:
- Afternoon snacks and drinks
- Loads of fun activities
- Music
- A safe and supportive place to hang out and meet others
When: 3pm to 5:30pm every Friday during school terms
Where: Peterson Youth Centre, corner Peterson Street and Highett Road, Highett
Cost: FREE
TEAM SPORTS 4 ALL – offering financial assistance for your children to play sport ⚽
Team Sports 4 All is a registered charity that is passionate about making sport accessible for all families who are experiencing financial hardship. Team Sports 4 All covers the cost of registration fees and uniforms for your child to participate in local community sport.
Eligibility criteria:
- People holding a current Health Care Card
- People residing in public/social housing
- People seeking asylum
How to get assistance:
- Answer a few questions and book an appointment via this booking link. Team Sports 4 All will contact you to confirm your appointment.
- The appointments will be held at Petersen Youth Centre on Tuesdays and take approximately 20 minutes. The next available appointment dates are 6 May, 13 May, and 20 May.
Young Women’s Program is back 🚺
Great news – Young Women’s Program is returning, and we can’t wait to welcome young women back for another amazing year!
This free program is open to young women aged 15 to 25, providing a welcoming and empowering space to connect, learn, and grow. Whether you’re returning or joining for the first time, Young Women’s Program is a chance to be part of something special. Each session is filled with interactive workshops, hands-on activities, and meaningful discussions – all designed to help you build confidence, make new friends, and explore new opportunities in a fun and supportive environment.
When: 4:30pm to 6pm every Tuesday during the school term
Where: Peterson Youth Centre, corner Peterson Street and Highett Road, Highett
Who: Young women aged 15 - 25 who live, work, study, or play in Bayside
Cost: FREE

Road Safety Education Programs🚗
In partnership with Melbourne Museum, the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is offering the following free road safety education programs in 2025:
An immersive, curriculum-linked excursion at the Melbourne Museum for Year 9 and 10 science, health & PE students, as well as VCE VM students.
A free incursion program delivered to your school. Designed for Years 9-11 and VCE VM students.
VCE HHD program at Road to Zero
Afree half-day immersion program. This helps students prepare for VCE HHD units 3 and 4 and end-of-year exams.
