A Night to Remember – Our Annual Open Night Shines Bright

Last week, our annual Open Night once again showcased the energy, talent, and spirit that define our college community. With both sessions sold out at a capacity of 500, and many arriving without booking, we welcomed over 1,000 people throughout the evening. The event was a huge success from start to finish.
Our outstanding jazz band greeted guests with a lively performance as they took their seats—a perfect way to set the tone for the night ahead. From there, visitors embarked on a 70-minute guided campus tour, led by more than 40 exceptional student leaders. Their passion, knowledge, and warmth gave families a genuine glimpse into the learning, creativity, and care that thrive within our college.
Over 120 students, including tour guides, performers, and behind-the-scenes helpers, volunteered their time to support the event. Their efforts were rewarded with well-earned slices of pizza and, more importantly, the pride of knowing they played a key role in welcoming future families to our college.
We also want to thank the wonderful families who joined our Working Bee over the long weekend of ANZAC Day. Their time and effort helped transform our gardens and outdoor spaces, ensuring the college grounds looked their absolute best for the evening.
The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many families expressing how inspired and excited they are to become part of our school community. We are exceptionally proud of how our students, staff, and families came together—Open Night 2025 was truly a celebration of who we are.
In other campus news, we’re pleased to report that our brand-new heating and cooling works are progressing ahead of schedule—fantastic news as we head into the colder months. Our classrooms will soon be even more comfortable for both students and staff, just in time for the winter season.
Congratulations to our Kids’ Lit Quiz team, who have successfully defended their state title and are now preparing to head off to Sydney again. Congratulations to Kerri and our star students—Carol, Kaia, Fiona, and Evelyn—on this incredible achievement!
Classrooms across the college are thriving, with students engaging in new units of work and continually challenging themselves in their learning.
A friendly reminder that our Homework and Study Club runs every Thursday after school, an excellent opportunity for students to access extra help or simply have a quiet place to focus.
Finally, we continue to dominate the local sporting fields, which is excellent preparation for our upcoming Athletics Carnival on May 22nd. A special mention goes to Year 7 student Persia Karageorgiou, who ran 6th in the Stawell Gift with a time of 12.663 over the 100m during the Easter break. This is an incredible effort and a bright future ahead.
