Congratulations to our MGC Senior 8 and Inter Quad crews for their outstanding performances at the Australian Nationals this past weekend at Lake Barrington, Tasmania.

Despite battling challenging windy conditions that caused delays and made the races quite thrilling, both teams showed incredible determination, each earning a spot in the B Finals of their divisions. The Inter Quad crew took on the newly introduced U17 Quad Scull race, bravely navigating their heat in strong headwinds and advancing to the semi-finals, where they finished 5th, securing a place in the B Final. They raced fiercely in the final, finishing 2nd and achieving an impressive 10th overall in the country for their division. 

Meanwhile, the Senior 8 had to wait an extra day for their heat, ultimately finishing 5th in a nail-biting race that allowed them to advance to the semi-finals by just one second! Competing against elite private schools, they also raced in the B Final, finishing 16th nationally, which is a remarkable accomplishment for our 8s program in just its second year.
