Harmony Week is a week about celebrating the diversity of Australia, and just how many cultures that are practiced within our communities. This year we raised funds for the asylum seekers resource centre, a foundation that aids refugees that seek asylum in Australia. If not for all of you dressing up on Harmony Day, either in cultural dress or just free dress, we could not have raised all that we did!

Huge thanks to the amazing student performers, and to Ms Calder and the music teachers for their help. We loved seeing all the students in cultural dress on Harmony Day. Diversity Club members kept the action up all through Harmony week, with trivia in the library, a delicious bake sale, and the amazing film Flow. A special thanks to Kit Creaney, the Diversity Captain, who organised a tremendous amount of the celebrations regarding Harmony Week and did so much of the work to put it all together.

This Thursday, the 2nd of April, it is World Autism Awareness Day, as designated by the UN. World Autism Awareness Day strives to inform people of what autism is, and to remove the stigmatism regarding it. It wants to educate the world to better understand what people with autism need, and how not everyone with autism has the same struggles. The theme this year is Autism and Humanity – Every Life has Value.

Shout out to the autistic students and staff in our own school.

Thanks for everything you bring to our community.

Diversity Club meets every Tuesday lunch in room 103. Come along! We welcome and celebrate all. Help us get ready for the Pride Picnic, or give us your ideas about other ways to celebrate the diversity of the MGC community.

Best wishes to College families who are celebrating Passover or Easter this week.
