Swimming Carnivals
Melbourne Girls’ College Swim Carnival 2026
Our recent MGC Swim Carnival, held at MSAC, was a fantastic success! With the highest participation and attendance numbers seen in recent years, the day was filled with energy, house spirit, and excitement from start to finish.
This year’s theme, “Under the Sea,” brought the carnival to life, with students showcasing an incredible range of creative and colourful costumes. It was wonderful to see so many students embracing the theme and contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the day.
There was something for everyone to enjoy, with a wide range of activities on offer throughout the carnival, including the Dunkatron, lawn activities, costume parades, inflatable races, house chants, and Zumba. The enthusiasm and involvement from students across all year levels made the day a true celebration of school spirit and community.
Congratulations to Chisholm, who were crowned the overall House Cup winners for the event. Their outstanding participation, spirit, and performances throughout the day were fantastic to see.
A special congratulations to our Age Group Champions:
Under 12/13: Vivienne Lee
Under 14: Emma Crouch
Under 15: Amelie Reardon
- Under 16: Lucy Sadler
- Under 17: Alexis McCarthy
- Under 18 to Under 20: Audrey Farina
Well done to all of these students, and to every student who participated on the day and helped make the carnival such a successful and enjoyable event.
A sincere thank you also goes to all staff who assisted throughout the day. Without their support, organisation, and willingness to help, events like these simply could not run so successfully. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and do not go unnoticed.
Region Swimming Carnival
Congratulations to all students who represented MGC at the Region Swim Carnival, held at WaterMarc in Greensborough. After outstanding performances at the Inner North Division, our swimmers competed with skill, determination, and school spirit against other schools in the region.
The squad showcased excellence in both individual events and team relays, demonstrating the high standards and expectations of MGC athletes. Your dedication, sportsmanship, and teamwork were evident throughout the day, well done to all involved!
A special congratulations to those students who have qualified for the State Competition, which will be held at MSAC in Term Two, we wish you the very best as you continue your swimming journey.
We also extend our thanks to the student helpers on the day, whose support ensured the event ran smoothly. Your contributions do not go unnoticed and are greatly appreciated.
