Year 11 Report 

What a fabulous way to end the year for our Year 11 students who attended their Year 12 Step Up camp last Thursday and Friday. The camp was a fantastic opportunity for students to connect, build confidence, and set themselves up for success as they move into their final year of schooling. 

This wrapped up a hardworking and productive two week Step Up period, where it was so pleasing to see every student applying themselves and engaging strongly with the beginning of their studies for 2026. Their focus, maturity, and willingness to lean into the challenge has been truly commendable. 

The camp at Roses Gap, nestled in the Grampians, was an unforgettable experience for both students and staff. Not only were we treated to breathtaking mountain views, but many of us also stepped outside our comfort zones, taking part in activities such as the giant swing, canoeing, and abseiling down a cliff — after quite a trek up the mountain first!

Throughout it all, students embraced every challenge, encouraged one another, and spent valuable time together as a cohort. They represented Woodmans Hill Secondary College with the utmost Respect, Determination, and Excellence. I was incredibly proud of each and every one of them — from cheering each other on during the adventure activities to working together during a massive game of cricket in the games room or trivia. Well done to all our Year 11's. You have shown that you are more than ready for Year 12 in 2026. 

I would also like to shout out to Tegan Crosbie, Leah Kerr, Paul Kelly and Courtney Kennedy for their support and assistance on camp. Your help ensured everything ran smoothly, and I truly appreciate the time and energy you invested into making the experience such a positive one for our students. A big shout-out also to Lee Harris in the Senior School Office for her work behind the scenes in organising the logistics — your efforts did not go unnoticed.
