As we bring another fantastic year at Woodmans Hill Secondary College to a close, I want to extend my deepest thanks to our students, staff, and families for the energy, commitment, and partnership that has shaped such a successful 2025 school year. This has been a year defined by growth—of our students, our community, and our shared ambition for what Woodmans Hill Secondary College can be.
Over the past few weeks, we have seen some outstanding achievements that highlight the calibre, character, and determination of our young people. A standout moment was the recognition of Talia Collins and our VCE VM and Gardening Program students, who proudly took home the Best Use of a Grant Award at a recent regional ceremony. Their project not only showcased creativity and initiative, but also demonstrated how hands-on learning and community contribution continue to thrive at our College. This acknowledgment reflects the heart of our school—students who care deeply about their environment, their learning, and each other.
Another highlight has been the success of our Step Up program, with students confidently transitioning into their Year 11 and Year 12 studies. The maturity, engagement, and focus they have shown speak volumes about their readiness for the next phase of their learning. Step Up has become a cornerstone of our approach to preparing students for senior secondary pathways, and this year’s cohort has truly embraced the opportunity. Their teachers have been full of praise for their effort, curiosity, and determination to make a strong start.
As I reflect on the year as a whole, I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together. Throughout 2025 we strengthened our learning culture, deepened our commitment to high expectations, and continued to embed practices aligned with the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model. From the establishment of new traditions and celebrations, to continued growth in our academic and wellbeing programs, to the strong community partnerships that supported our students—this has been a year defined by progress and purpose.
Our classrooms, our yard, and our events have been filled with moments of pride, connection, success, and genuine community spirit. We have championed student voice, elevated staff professional learning, invested in our facilities, and continued to grow as an inclusive, respectful, and ambitious school.
To our families—thank you. Your trust, support, encouragement, and partnership underpin everything we do. It is a privilege to educate your young people, and we are grateful for the strong relationships that define Woodmans Hill Secondary College.
As we head into the holiday period, I wish every family a safe, restful, and enjoyable break. I look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2026 as we continue to build on our successes and forge ahead with determination, optimism, and our unwavering commitment to Respect, Determination and Excellence.
