Hands on Learning Report

Written by HoL Student - Lachlan Ellen

Hands on Learning is finishing up a busy 2025 with a big project, some new recruits, a movie and a celebration with family and friends.

This year we've been working on a few projects around the school which included a 'meeting place', or a landscaping design near our yarning circle and another garden area near learning support. Here we made new garden boxes and planted blueberries, jasmine and a tangelo.

Last week we had a trial for the new students who are joining Hands on Learning next year. I was shy at first because I didn't know who would be there but at the end I managed to get a few friends and that's what counts. We had a morning tea together and we finished a small project together.

The new kids only stayed until recess and we went in a taxi van to the movies. We saw Zootopia 2. It was alright until I had a headache. No spoilers, but the first one is better.

We only have one more Hands on Learning this year and we will need to prepare for our celebration. We are having afternoon tea with our families and some teachers. There might even be a gift.

My highlight from Hands on Learning this year has been working towards achieving my focus plan, I have and I am really proud.

From all the crew at Hands On Learning, have a safe and festive Christmas and looking forward to sharing more adventures in 2026.
