As we come to the end of the year for our weekly Yarning Circles, it’s the perfect time to reflect on everything our mob has achieved. From Reconciliation and NAIDOC celebrations to weekly Yarns, activities, movies and shared feeds, it has certainly been a full and rewarding year.
Six of our students proudly graduated from the Nallei Jerring Western Bulldogs leadership program, showing great commitment and leadership throughout. We also attended Children’s Day events across all year levels from Year 7–12, representing Woodmans Hill Secondary College with Respect and Pride.
One of the most exciting developments this year has been watching our beautiful Yarning Circle space come to life. The Hands on Learning team has created an incredible garden bed around it, featuring native plants that we can’t wait to see in bloom.
Our group has grown tremendously in 2025. It has been wonderful getting to know each other’s stories and cultural journeys — whether just beginning or already well underway, and working together as a strong, supportive team.
In 2026, we will welcome a few new First Nations students, and I am excited to continue building on the amazing cultural strength and sense of community we are so fortunate to have here at Woodmans Hill Secondary College.
I wish all students and families a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.
