Major Awards Ceremony

Congratulations to all students who were acknowledged during Homegroup this week for their Academic achievements throughout 2025.
At this morning’s Awards Ceremony, we had the opportunity to congratulate students who achieved First in Subject Awards. Their dedication and commitment to academic excellence is to be commended.
The following Major Award were also presented:
Challenge Cup Award
The Challenge Cup is a collective Application to Learning award. This award is based on the number of students from each of the five Houses who have earned Application to Learning awards. It is seen as a way of recognising the importance of student application. Striving to do your best and participating in any endeavour, regardless of ability, is our goal at Mater Dei. Congratulations to Kennedy House.
Academic Excellence Award
This Award is presented to students who have excelled in all areas of learning and their outstanding commitment. As well as being award all A grades for each subject of study, they have also been awarded "Consistently" grades in all the approach to learning categories for each subject of study. This is an indication of extraordinary commitment to learning and academia. The award was presented to Harrison Uphill.
Australian Defence Force Long Tan Leadership Award
The Australian Defence Force Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork Award is presented to a Year 10 student who best meets the criteria of excellence in leadership, teamwork, values, problem-solving, resourcefulness, communication, co-operation and community involvement. This award was presented to Harrison Uphill.
Australian Defence Force Future Innovators Award
The Australian Defence Force Future Innovators Award is presented to a Year 10 student who demonstrates innovation in the learning areas of STEM, which is Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
This award was presented to Stephanie Shaw.
RSL Citizenship Award
The RSL Citizenship Award is donated by the Wagga Wagga Sub-Branch and the Office of the NSW Member for Wagga Wagga. This Award recognises students who display leadership, devotion to helping others and community spirit.
This award was presented to James O'Rourke.
Science Enirgi Award
The Year 10 Science Award is sponsored by Enirgi Power Storage Wagga and is awarded annually to a student who has demonstrated outstanding engagement and commitment to the study of Science during their time at the College. The award highlights the value of Science as a course of study and encourages students to pursue a career in this area. This award was presented to Jett Gilbey.
2025 Humanities Award
This award is presented to a Student who displays excellence in Humanities. This award is sponsored by the Member for Wagga Wagga, Dr Joe McGirr. This award was presented to Harrison Uphill.
Rotary Community Spirit Award
This award goes to a Student who demonstrates outstanding Community Spirit at the College. This award was presented to George Chigwidden.
