Social Media Restrictions
Social media plays a complex role in many young people’s lives. It can be a source of entertainment, identity exploration, creativity, self-expression, and connection with friends, family, and wider communities. For some, especially those who have experienced exclusion or isolation offline, online spaces may be where they have found safety, belonging, and people who understand them.
The restrictions on social media access for certain age groups may have varied impacts from little to no change for some, to significant distress for others. More information can be found on the Headspace website.
Year 7 2026 Orientation Day
Last Friday was our Year 7, 2026 Orientation Day. It was wonderful to see our incoming Year 7 students getting involved in a range of activities and making great new connections with each other. We were especially impressed with how inclusive this group of students were and the feedback was that everyone had a great day. We look forward to welcoming everyone officially to the College on Monday 2 February, for the first of our two Transition Days. On that day you should have a water bottle, hat, wired headphones, your diary and your pencil case. All other book pack items are not required for the Transition Days. See you all next year.

Christmas Door Decoration Competition
Mater Dei was alive in the Christmas Spirit with a Door Decoration Competition. Homegroup doors were judged on creativity and Christmas spirit. The judging sheets were collected and we have 2 winners on equal points. Congratulations to Webber 5 and Rosarie 2 for their amazing door decorations!
