Japanese

It has been an exciting term across the different year levels in Japanese. Our Year 10 students completed their Japanese studies with a Unit called “Guess Who?” Students learned to talk about people, describing their physical and personality traits. The unit culminated with Mater Dei’s Top Model challenge, which saw the students dress in some interesting fashion choices. Congratulations to Mollie Clarke and her team on their big win, and Felicity Steele on her fabulous description.

Year 9 are consolidated their teamwork skills with another Sports Festival to finish the year. This year, however, it was not just sport - there were mental challenges as well, involving Katakana and Kanji battles, sentence building activities, and Japanese chants. There was intense competition to see the best team win!

Year 8 are finished their Storytelling Unit with different activities across the classes. Some classes took a deeper look into Japanese Manga, while others are looking at traditional stories and performed short plays to an appreciative audience from Kindergarten and Year 1 at Mater Dei Primary School.
