BBQ, Games and New Friendships

The Year 8 students from Mazenod and St Brigid’s attended a “BBQ and Games Arvo” in the Oblate Hall on Thursday of Week 4.

Students enjoyed card and ball games, posed in a photo booth, ate hot dogs and ice-cream and even threw some shapes on the dance floor. Impromptu conga lines and games of musical chairs were interspersed with quiet board games in the chill-out area.

The aim of the afternoon was to socialise with students from the other college. Students were given tickets whenever they were observed doing just that, with the tickets then placed into a draw at the end of the afternoon for the chance to win prizes.

The hall was enthusiastically set up and decorated by the newly appointed Year 8 Form and House Leaders. The Vinnies crew provided the BBQ skills, the Arts team managed the sound and lighting, and numerous staff and student volunteers from Years 9 to 12 helped make the social an event to remember.
