🛌🏻Cebula Boarding

Boarding News
Dear Parents and Guardians
It has certainly been a busy time in the Cebula community since our last newsletter. We wrapped up National Boarding Week with an ‘Invite a Day Boy to Boarding’ weekend and enjoyed Mass and supper with the boarders from St Brigid’s. The boys also found time to showcase their skills in table tennis and pool championships, fostering camaraderie among different ages in the boarding house. A special shout-out to the two boys who ran the event; their leadership and organisational talents truly shone through.
The House Athletics Carnival was another highlight, with the Cebula House spirit on full display. Boys participated in numerous events, striving for points for the House and we witnessed excellent performances throughout the day. It was certainly inspiring to see everyone giving their best.
The boys in their Cebula House groups took the initiative to organise a series of fabulous MMD stalls to raise funds for Oblate Missions overseas. Their dedication and efforts were commendable as they enthusiastically volunteered at a variety of stalls selling milkshakes, ice-creams and fairy floss. Their enthusiasm and teamwork were again on display during the MMD games, where Cebula took out the honours.
I couldn’t be prouder of the boys during the 60th Anniversary Celebration weekend. They attended the Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral, many visiting this beautiful church for the first time. Their behaviour was exemplary, as it was during the Community Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church last Sunday, where the boys joined parishioners from Lesmurdie, Kalamunda and Pickering Brook.
Amidst all these activities, the boys found time to attend Outdoor Education camps, Mock Trial, Year 8 Pilgrimages to Fremantle and continued to honour their commitments to their winter sports teams. This busy schedule highlights not only the vibrancy of boarding life but also the boys’ dedication and commitment.
As we approach a long weekend, I know that both staff and boarders are looking forward to a well-deserved break.
