Year 10 – Subject Selection and MyPath Preparation
Year 10 students continue to participate in Head of Learning Area presentations as part of their preparation for Year 11 subject selection.
Students have now heard from almost all Learning Areas, with only the Design & Technology and Digital Technologies presentations remaining, which will take place during Extended Form on Tuesday morning (Week 8).
These presentations are helping students develop a clearer understanding of:
• Subjects available in Year 11
• Course expectations and content
• ATAR and General pathway options
• Subject prerequisites for university courses and future careers
Students are encouraged to continue discussing pathway options at home as they prepare for Subject Selection Meetings later this term.
Planning for MyPath Week (Week 9) is also continuing, with a range of university, industry, and pathway presentations currently being organised.
MyPath Careers Expo – Community Invitation
As part of MyPath Week, Mazenod College will be hosting its annual MyPath Careers Expo on: Tuesday – Week 9 - 3:10pm – 5:00pm
We warmly invite all students, parents and members of the Mazenod community to attend.
The Careers Expo provides an excellent opportunity for families to speak directly with:
• Universities
• TAFE and training providers
• Apprenticeship organisations
• Industry representatives
• Defence Force recruiters
• Employers and community organisations
This event is designed to help students and families explore future pathways, ask questions and gain a better understanding of the opportunities available after school.
Choosing Subjects for Year 11 & 12 – University and Pathway Resources
As Year 10 students begin preparing for subject selection later this year, families are encouraged to explore the pathway and subject selection resources available through WA universities and TISC.
These resources help students and parents better understand:
• University entry requirements
• ATAR prerequisites for different courses
• Alternative entry pathways
• Subject recommendations for future careers and university study

Year 11 – Exams, Workplace Learning and Career Exploration
Year 11 students are currently preparing for upcoming exams and Workplace Learning opportunities.
We would like to wish all students sitting exams over the coming weeks the very best with their preparation and assessments.
Workplace Learning continues to provide valuable opportunities for students to:
• Gain experience in real workplace environments
• Develop employability skills
• Explore industries of interest
• Build confidence and workplace awareness
Students are encouraged to continue researching pathways and attending university or industry events where possible.
Year 12 – TISC Applications, Early Offers and Pathway Planning
Year 12 students are now moving into a critical stage of pathway planning, with university applications and early offers becoming a major focus.
Students have continued participating in individual pathway planning sessions with the Careers team and are being encouraged to:
• Research university courses carefully
• Understand prerequisites and entry requirements
• Begin considering TISC course preferences
• Explore alternative pathways and backup options
We would also like to wish all Year 12 students the very best as they prepare for upcoming examinations over the coming weeks.
Notre Dame University – Early Offer Applications Now Open
Direct applications to The University of Notre Dame Australia are now open through the Early Offer Portal.
Notre Dame’s Early Offer Program allows students to apply directly to the university free of charge. Students can include supporting documentation as part of their application to strengthen their application and potentially receive additional adjustment factor points.
Supporting documents may include:
• Year 11 Semester 2 report
• Year 12 Semester 1 report
• School recommendation letter
• Academic or co-curricular awards
• Volunteering and community involvement
• Resume and work experience
• Sporting or arts achievements
• Employer references
The first round of Early Offers will be released from 1 September 2026, with four rounds of offers in total.
Important Notre Dame Early Offer Dates:
• 1st Round – 1 September 2026
• 2nd Round – 17 September 2026
• 3rd Round – 1 October 2026
• Applications Close – 30 November 2026
• 4th Round – 8 December 2026
Please note that the Bachelor of Nursing is not yet open for 2027 applications.

Career Spotlight – Trades and Apprenticeship Pathways
Career Spotlight – Health Sciences and Allied Health:
Health Sciences and Allied Health pathways continue to grow strongly across Western Australia and provide opportunities to work in healthcare outside of Medicine and Nursing.
Students can study pathways leading to careers such as:
• Physiotherapy
• Occupational Therapy
• Speech Pathology
• Exercise Science
• Paramedicine
• Medical Imaging
• Public Health
Many of these pathways require strong ATAR results and may have prerequisites from Science and Mathematics.
Students interested in Health pathways are encouraged to:
• Research prerequisites carefully
• Attend university Open Days
• Speak with university representatives
• Discuss pathway planning with the Careers team
Career Tools Reminder
All students have access to Career Tools, which provides information on careers, university pathways, labour market trends, and course requirements.
Students are encouraged to continue using Career Tools to support their pathway planning and career exploration.
