Parky's Big Give 2026

A day that brought Parkdale together
On Thursday 18 June, Parkdale Secondary College turned a brilliant shade of blue for Parky's Big Give, our annual fundraiser held during Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Awareness Month. Students, staff and families came together to support FightMND, the charity working towards a world free of this devastating disease.
It was a day with something for everyone. The school embraced a 'touch of blue' free dress theme, the air filled with the smell of a sausage sizzle, and at lunchtime the whole community gathered for the main event: the Big Freeze Ice Bucket Challenge. Group by group, our wonderfully brave staff and students took their seats and felt the icy splash.
Our Student Voice and Action Committee set themselves a goal of raising $1,000, and we are delighted to share that the Parkdale community blew that target away. Together we raised over $3,000 for FightMND! The day's BBQ added a further $1,156 towards our upcoming production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Behind every dunk, donation and dollar was a genuine team effort. We are deeply grateful to the staff who gave their time, the students who led with such energy and care, the volunteers who cooked and set up all day, and the families whose generosity made it all possible.
Most of all, thank you to everyone who donated, dressed up, took the plunge, or simply came along to cheer. Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference in the fight against MND. In celebration of FightMND founder Neale Daniher — "Play on."
