STEP Celebration Evening

Our annual STEP Celebration Evening was held on the final Monday of Term 2, providing a wonderful opportunity to finish the semester on a high.

It was a fantastic evening where our STEP students proudly showcased the projects, achievements and learning experiences they have been working on throughout the semester. The event also gave students the chance to explore the exciting work being undertaken across the various STEP programs. We were delighted to see such a strong turnout, including many families attending for the first time.

A highlight of the evening was welcoming back former student, Feodor Ivanov, who shared reflections on his time at Parkdale Secondary College and his involvement in the STEP program. Feodor also spoke about his current studies in Engineering and the opportunities that have followed since leaving PSC. He is an incredibly impressive young man, and we were honoured to hear about his journey. We look forward to seeing where his future takes him.

The evening also provided an opportunity to celebrate our outstanding STEM Racing National Finalists – Archie Pinhorn, Hudson Barnes, Finn Van Deursen and Nick Ly. What these talented young men achieved in just six weeks was truly remarkable. Their dedication, teamwork and innovation were inspiring, and we are incredibly proud of their success.

We were also thrilled to present our STEPer of the Year Awards. Congratulations to Finn Van Deursen and Hudson Barnes, who were recognised for consistently demonstrating our school values of Aspiration, Empathy, Integrity, Respect and Resilience. Both students continually strive to achieve their very best and serve as excellent role models within the STEP community.

In addition, we celebrated several competition winners from our Year 7 STEP teams and our talented Year 8 Coders. Congratulations to all students who were recognised for their achievements.

Thank you to all students, families and staff who attended and helped make the evening such a success. We are incredibly proud of everything our STEP students have accomplished this semester and look forward to another exciting and innovative Semester 2.

STEP Year 8 Coding

Massive congratulations to all our Year 8 Coding students, on completion of their Sumo Robotics and Coding competition.

Last week, Jingchong Cai was crowned champion of champions. This is a fantastic achievement, and Jingchong will have his name engraved on our perpetual trophy.
