Year 9 Camp

Year 9 Camp - Forest Edge

I know I can speak on behalf of the year level to say that the camp was very fun. From chasing kangaroos across the field, to the many injuries from mountain boarding, we all got to experience Forest Edge in its own magical way.

We got to all know each other, and the teachers, even better than before and we pushed ourselves out of our comfort zones, which resulted in unforgettable memories. This included many funny moments like the angry Uno games played at night, becoming pros at African drumming, good yet questionable answers to interviews, trying to push your mates down the hill on the night walk, the high stakes of making sure you won a soft drink, and even the determination of trying to bring a kettle to camp, just to make chicken noodles.

The teachers enjoyed themselves too! Mr Walsh set a record of eating 10 cinnamon scrolls, Mr Bose’s lovely singing in trivia (good thing you chose teaching as a career) and Mr G’s enjoyment when he poured a Sunkist over a student at the dinner table (accidently). The food was great, and we’ve never seen some people be as quiet as they were, when it came to choosing who would get lasagna first. The jam doughnuts were also a favourite of many!

The wide variety of activities made sure everyone got to enjoy their time at Forest Edge in their own way. Like the thrills of going down the zipline, trying not to fall off the wire in high ropes, aiming for the bullseye and then not even hitting the target in archery, and the camp cooking, where the damper even came with a mosquito for some extra protein.

Camp has truly been the best part of Year 9, and it was a place where many memories were made that we will hold onto for a long time. It goes without saying that all the fun and enjoyment could not of happened if it wasn’t for the teachers, but specifically Mr Bose. Thank you!
