Year 12 Physics

Year 12 Physics EPI DAY

On Friday 19 June, our Year 12 Physics students participated in an all-day incursion dedicated to their Extended Practical Investigation.

As part of this task, students were required to design and conduct an experiment with a real-world application related to one of the major topics studied throughout the year. They then analysed their results and presented their findings in a scientific poster format.

The day showcased a wide range of innovative and well-designed investigations involving electricity, magnetism, solenoids, gravity, inclined planes, fans, springs, and the use of an air track to investigate friction. Several students even designed and 3D-printed specialised equipment, creating their own components using CAD software to support their experiments.

The quality of the experimental designs this year was particularly impressive, demonstrating a high level of creativity, problem-solving and scientific thinking. Students should be commended for their commitment, ingenuity and application of practical physics concepts.

Congratulations to all our Year 12 Physics students on their outstanding efforts and achievements.
