Congratulations to Harry Fairley (Year 10) on his outstanding achievement of being selected to represent Victoria in diving. This selection is a testament to Harry’s dedication, hard work, and commitment to his sport. We wish him all the best as he competes at the state level and for Victoria.

Well done to Imogen Jeffery (Year 8) on her outstanding performance at the recent Oceania Athletics Championships held in Darwin in May. Competing against some of the region’s best young athletes, Imogen achieved an impressive 2nd place in the Girls U16 Javelin and 3rd place in the Girls U16 Shot Put.
Achieving personal best performances in both events makes these results even more impressive and is a reflection of her dedication, perseverance, and countless hours of training. Well done Imogen on these fantastic results.

Parkdale Cross Country Team Dominates at the SMR Championships
Parkdale Secondary College was proudly represented by 23 students at the Southern Metropolitan Region (SMR) Cross Country Championships in Hastings, one of the largest teams competing on the day. Facing strong competition from across the region, every Parkdale runner rose to the challenge, producing outstanding performances.
The team enjoyed a highly successful day, with many students recording personal best performances and an impressive 10 athletes qualifying for the Victorian State Cross Country Championships, to be held in the Yarra Valley during Term 3.
A major highlight was the outstanding success of our 14 Years Girls team, who were crowned SMR Team Champions after a dominant team performance. The 12–13 Years Boys team also delivered an excellent result, finishing second overall in the team standings.
Our state qualifiers were:
Eliza A – 1st (14 Girls) – 3km – 11:15

The depth of talent across the team was evident throughout the day, with students supporting one another, pushing themselves in challenging conditions and competing with determination from start to finish.
Particularly encouraging was the performance of our Year 7 contingent. The youngest members of the team competed exceptionally well and demonstrated the strength of Parkdale's future cross-country program. Their enthusiasm, commitment and willingness to challenge themselves were a fantastic sign of what is to come in the years ahead.
Congratulations to all 23 students who competed at this level. To qualify for an SMR Championship is an achievement in itself, and the effort shown by every runner was a credit to both themselves and the College. We wish our 10 state qualifiers the very best as they prepare to compete against Victoria's best runners in the Yarra Valley later this year.
