What’s in a shape?

During Term 2, Year 7 Art students at BSC explored the art element of shape which is the building block of all forms, whether two or three dimensional, positive or negative.

This exploration focused on the medium of collage which often forms the basis for hand-built image making. Students were asked to focus on the technique of mosaic collage using bright colours and a range leaf shaped template, inspired by the colours of the Melbourne Autumn.

The beauty of the resulting artwork is the vast range of both colours, shapes and arrangements that students developed through the process.
